Peugeot 1936 : 302
The 302 would replace the 301 at the 1936 motorshow. It was based on the 402, of which it constituted a smaller, less powerful version. It naturally followed the appealing design of the “Fuseau Sochaux” or “Sochaux Nacelle”. Its 1.8 litre, 43 hp overhead valve engine was derived from its big sister's two litre engine. The 302 SS, a more powerful model made in short numbers (only 20), was fitted with the 402's engine. In 1937 it would become the 402 Légère. The 302 disappeared from the production line in April 1938.
